While released later than in previous years, the 2024-2025 FAFSA application is available now.  All domestic and eligible non-citizen students are encouraged the complete the FAFSA right away. 

The updates from the U.S Department of ED on when we expect to begin receiving FAFSA results for the 2425 year is to be determined. Our goal is to begin receiving applications by mid-late April.

Differences between Offices of Financial Aid & Offices Bursar

Financial Aid assists students with financial aid eligibility and FAFSA, fellowships, scholarships, tuition remission, loans, grants, and work-study.

The Bursar assists with billing and payment due date, identifying holds/removal of financial holds, receipt of outside scholarship and direct pay third-party checks, special billing (third-party contracts and payment plans), refunds, and sibling tuition discount information.


How Do I Apply For Aid?

In order to apply for aid, students and parents need to go to studentloans.gov and fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Each student and parent will need to create their own unique FSA ID in order to log in and out of the application.

How Do I Sign Up For A Payment Plan?

Follow these steps:

  • Log into Bison Web
  • Click on Student Services
  • Click on Student Accounts
  • Click the option to View and Pay Your Bill
  • Log into epay.howard.edu
  • From the main ePay page, click Payment Plans

Please note: Payment plans are available through Howard University ONLY for the current academic year and within the open enrollment period, no exceptions.
